
Benedict, Jr., Edward Anthony passed peacefully in his home, May 13, 2016 at the age of 88. He is survived by Mary Ruth, his wife of 67 years, his daughter Debbie Denbo, with her husband Henry and his son Michael Benedict with his wife, Amanda. He has three grandchildren, Anna Bird, with her husband Jon Bird, and Evan Denbo, two nephews, Brett Casina and Richard Casina, a great niece, Mallory O'Daniel and a great nephew, Jeremy O'Daniel. Ed was born in Troy, NY and after graduation from Rensellier County High School joined the US Army Air Corps. He served in the Air Corps as an air traffic controller until after the conclusion of WW II. After his military service, Ed entered the tire business here in Montgomery, AL. He spent 45 years working with the Fowler Dozier and Jerry Higgins Tire Companies. He has been active in his neighborhood association (the CIA) and is known for his float building skills, helping with floats for the 4th of July Parade and the CIA entry in the Montgomery City Christmas Parade. He has been recognized by the Montgomery Advertiser in their "Good Neighbor Profile". He has also been an active member of the St. Peter Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, on Tuesday May 17, 2016 at 10:00am, with a graveside service to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Leak memory Chapel is directing.
