Edward Kinard departed this life on July 11, 2020. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 9:30 AM at Leak Memory Chapel. Ed was born February 2, 1927 in Bibb County, Alabama to Grover Cleveland and Martha Jane Kinard. He was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Force (later U.S. Air Force) and served during World War II and Korea. Ed was “boots on the ground” in Hiroshima after Japan’s surrender.
Ed married Barbara “Carole” Walker on August 18, 1948. They were married 71 years and 328 days. Their marriage produced three children: Walter “Alan” Kinard (1950 – 2009), Joyce “Faye” Henke 1952 (Mark), William “Keith” Kinard 1960 (Nancy). Ed is also survived by two brothers, A.B. Kinard and Jewell Kinard; seven grandchildren, Hope Hall, Alana Kinard, Michael Kinard, Elizabeth Kinard (deceased), Kirby Kinard and Chris Kinard; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
