

Elmore was born on Oct. 6, 1926 in Montgomery, Alabama, the son of Warren D. and Thera Clark Hall. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen Lyford Hall and his siblings Warren Douglas Hall, Jr., Marion Hall Taylor, Mary Hall Reed, Thera Hall Underwood and Lary Hall.
He is survived by his two sons, John Elmore Hall and Warren Douglas Hall, IV, their wives Denise Pressley Hall and Jeannice Watts Hall, grandsons Michael Wayne Uptain, Marcus Ray Tompkins, John Elmore Hall, II and Matthew Dalton Hall, and two great-grandchildren Lance Gage Tompkins and Calleigh Rae Tompkins.
Mr. Hall served in WWII in the Pacific theatre. Upon return to Coosada, he earned a BA from Huntingdon in 1950 and a MA from the University of Alabama in 1958. Mr. Hall taught at R.E. Lee High School from 1955-1962 and for 20 years at the Extension Course Institute at Air University as an education specialist, awarded for his professional communication skills. He retired in 1986.
Elmore was a member of St. Michael & All Angels' Episcopal Church in Millbrook, Alabama since 1965, serving in numerous positions and terms as warden, vestry clerk and lay Eucharistic minister.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church with burial immediately following at the Hall Family Cemetery in Coosada, Alabama on Auburn Hill Dr. Father Mark Waldo, Jr. of St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church will officiate the services. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 13 at Leak Memorial Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
