
Elsie M. Dudley, 94, was born in Pine Hill, Alabama on March 6, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Alabama, primarily Montgomery. She died peacefully in her sleep on April 21, after a brief illness. Mrs. Dudley was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William Lewis Dudley, Jr., three brothers; Ivan Morgan, Berrey Morgan, Alfred Morgan, two sisters; Inez Schneider Davis and Mildred O’Rear, and one granddaughter (Traci Dudley). She is survived by her two children: Janice D. Stahl of Marietta/ Sandersville, Ga., and Donald W. (wife, Therisa) of Titus, Alabama, 6 grandchildren: Laura (Jay) McAnnally (Kennesaw, GA), Terre (Todd) Smith (Baton Rouge, LA) Renee (Dave) Coleman (Odessa, FL), Melissa (Dave) Hausdorf (Marietta, GA), Ginger (Shelly) Dudley, (Apopka, FL), Stephen (Wanda) Dudley (Montgomery, AL), and 15 great grandchildren: Taylor Smith, Erin McAnnally, Hayden Smith, Brandon Coleman, Kelsey McAnnally, Haylie Smith, Trevor Coleman, Jordan Dudley, Callan McAnnally, Jessica Hausdorf, Brendon Hausdorf, MaKayla Dudley, Cavan Dudley, Tyler Dudley, and Mattie Dudley. Mrs. Dudley was a graduate of Jones Law School and spent her career in service to our veterans at the Veteran’s Administration of Montgomery. Mrs. Dudley served on the board of the VA credit union for many years, and was an active member of the BPW. She traveled extensively with the Friendship Force of Alabama, representing the friendly faces of average Americans and entertaining visiting guests from other countries. Family will be holding visiting hour from 12:00pm until 1:00pm, on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Leak Memory Chapel; Celebration of Life Service will be held in the chapel at 1:00pm.
