Evelyn Strength Cox

Evelyn Strength Cox, age 91, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Evelyn was born September 30, 1929 to James P. Strength and Evie Weldon Strength Garner Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Albert Cox Sr; her son Jack Albert Cox Jr.; her parents; her siblings, Dolie, James, Elizabeth, Howard, Ed, Cecil and Betty Jean. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Cox (Robert) Donehoo; six grandchildren, Tamera (Donald) Meyer, Brent (Sherry) Cox, Tonya (Reid) Gaston, Shannon Cox (Tony Anness), DeAnna (Joey) Sexton and Taylor Cox; and 15 great grand children, Jack Von Cox, Keline Sexton, Katie Gaston, Lauren Gaston, Brentson Cox, Dylan Cox, Lana Sexton, Will Gaston, Jacque Matherne, Wade Sexton, Jill Matherne, J. D. Matherne, Nathan Cox, Amelia Cox and Clarabelle Cox.

Evelyn enjoyed life and shared a contagious enthusiasm for all endeavors. From fishing to dressing up for special events, she brought fun wherever she was. She loved her family deeply and encouraged each in a special way.

A graveside service for Mrs. Cox will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
