

Fentress Gary Weitman passed away on June 9, 2026 at the age of 83. Born in Glennville, GA on March 31, 1943, Mr. Weitman grew up in Montgomery, AL and served the community as a Montgomery firefighter for over 20 years.
Over the years, along with his late beloved wife Anne Herrin Weitman, he built a life centered on faith, family and service. Gary was known for helping those in need and found joy in working with his hands. He was a member of St. James Methodist Church and served the Lord faithfully.
Mr. Weitman is survived by his children; Gary Lane (Veniz) Weitman, Kim (Greg) Shedd, Amy (Lee) Brown, and Holly (Michael) Kuykendall; his grandchildren; David Lane Weitman, Corey Shedd, Kylie (Trevor) Lipsey, Annelise Brown, Jonathan Kuykendall and Addison Kuykendall; great grandchildren, Layla Lipsey, Riley Lipsey, Brooklyn Sanders, Emily Sanders, Madison Shedd and Lucas Shedd. He is also survived by his brothers; Danny Weitman, James (Jackie) Weitman, Russell (Penny) Lambert; and sisters, Sandy (Chris Costello) Korach and Wendy (Chris) Hershberger. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; Lewis Fentress Weitman and Grace Sapp Lambert; his beloved wives, Anne Herrin Weitman and Shirley Hicks Weitman; and his sisters, Jane (Robert) Morrison, Ramona Gayle (Ray) Lee, and Tracey (Mike) Collins.
A visitation for Mr. Weitman will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 1:00-2:00 pm at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Rd., Montgomery, AL followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 pm.
Services will conclude with a burial at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in his honor to your church or favorite charity.
