Flora Nell Scott

Scott, Flora R., age 88, of Montgomery and Birmingham, Alabama made her final transition to heaven on September 26, 2012 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. Born in Elmore County, Flora worked as a bookkeeper for over 35 years and was an active member at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Montgomery until 2005, when she moved with her husband, Alfred, to Birmingham to be near their daughter.

After her husband passed away in April, 2005, Flora made many friends at Greenbriar Retirement Apartments in Birmingham. She was a sweet, loving mother, a loyal and caring friend with a strong faith and deep love of family and friends. She will be missed by many.

Flora is survived by her daughters, Joan Scott Lowe and husband Jerry of Birmingham and Cynthia Scott Hutchinson and husband Mark of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren Stephen and David Hutchinson of Tampa, Florida; nieces Lisa Rouse Pope and Linda Rouse Bradford; nephew Dr. Owen Scott, Jr. and niece Scottie Baste; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29, at 10 a.m. after visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
