Floyd Rubin Massey, age 96, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on August 18, 2026. Born on May 31, 1930, Floyd lived a long and richly blessed life marked by devotion to his family, deep faith in Christ, and a joyful love of gospel music.
For more than 68 years, Floyd was the loving and steadfast husband of Lila Rae Massey, who preceded him in death in 2020. Their marriage was a testimony of faith, commitment, and enduring love. Together they raised two children, Ben and Karen, who also preceded him in death and who now welcome him home in heaven.
Floyd was a man of many passions — a lifelong gospel music lover, a motorcycle rider with a spirit of adventure, and above all, a devoted family man whose quiet strength and gentle humor shaped generations. His faith was the anchor of his life, and he lived it with sincerity, humility, and unwavering trust in Christ.
He is survived by his son in law, John Maddaloni (Gayle), and his daughter in law, Pam Massey; his grandchildren Brent Massey, Jacob Maddaloni, Austin (Hannah) Massey, Carmen Maddaloni, and Morgan Massey; and his great grandchildren Graham Maddaloni, Olivia Massey, Noah Massey, Indigo Massey, Tekoa Massey, Poema Massey, Ramona Massey, Kaden Birch and Benjamin Birch. He is also survived by extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who cherished his presence in their lives.
We rejoice knowing Floyd is now celebrating in heaven — reunited with Lila, Ben, and Karen; embraced by his parents and loved ones; and worshiping joyfully among the great cloud of believers he longed to join.
Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., with Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens.
