Frances Walker Little

Frances was born in Troy, Alabama and after high school attended Massey Draughon Business College in Montgomery, AL. She worked with the State of Alabama Banking Department, Bureau of Loans, for 32 years as a Stenographer III until she had to retire after suffering a stroke.

Frances' husband Bobby of 55 years took care of her for 20 years at home and for the past two years she was a resident at Charlton Place Nursing Home in Deatsville, AL, where Bobby continued to care for her daily.

Frances and Bobby lived most of their married years in Montgomery, Alabama and then moved to Elmore, Alabama where they have resided for the past 10 years.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Pauline Walker, Troy, Alabama and granddaughter, Mandy Shea Hughes.

She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 55 years, Bobby L. Little; daughters Lisa L. Metcalf and husband Butch Metcalf, Montgomery, AL and Teresa D. Moseley and husband Scott Moseley, Deatsville, AL; grandchildren Justin Hughes, Auburn, AL, Amy (Matt) Smith, Montgomery, AL, Adam (Emily)Hughes, Millbrook, AL and Austin Metcalf, Montgomery, AL; two great grandchildren Charleigh Hughes and Grayson Hughes, Millbrook, AL; sisters Billie Cales (and the late Nolan Cales), Pensacola, FL, Jane Kimbrough (and the late Dick Kimbrough), Pensacola, FL; brother Ronald (Cindy) Walker, Cantonment, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Frances will always be remembered for her kind and loving selflessness to others. She was the most wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, Montgomery Alabama at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm will burial immediately following in Greenwood Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Children’s Hospital, Birmingham, AL in honor of Frances Little and in memoriam of her granddaughter Mandy Shea Hughes, or to one’s favorite charity.
