I met Fred Waldo in 1978 while working for Auburn University.  Fred at the time was a Supervisor for The alabama State Insurance Fund. We worked together for several years while he led the inspection AU Properties. It was a great joy to be associated with a man with great professionalism & loyalty to his job.

Fred was one of the kindness people I ever knew.

I was so sorry to learn of Fred's passing.  I recall fondly all the fun times we had tailgaiting at Auburn.  I was blessed to have known Fred.  Thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I was so sorry to read of Fred's death. I remember John Neil and I introducing the two of you in 1957. You both were such wonderful people and we were so happy for you both. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Mr.   and Mrs. Waldo were faithful visitors to the Eastchase Farmers Market. They would always stop by with a kind word. Our sincerest condolences and prayers to the family, from the girls at Gigi’s Fabulous Foods ❤️

I met Mr. Waldo over 7 years ago while delivering medical equipment to him
 He and Ms. Jeanette always had a good wholesome conversation waiting for me. Their home and heart was always opened and filled with love.  Mr. Waldo will surely be missed. My condolences to the Waldo family he was truly a Gentleman.                                                                     Jake 

I remember The day Loren and I got married. We only invited 50 people. Fred and Jeanette were at the top of my list. My daughter was my flower girl. She has CP and Autism and legally blind so she had to be in her wheelchair and rolled down the isle. She got a little nervous and just tossed the entire flower basket in the air and all the petals fell out. Fred jumped up and got the basket and all the petals, put it together and handed it back to Maegan! He reassured her to continue and she was okay! Fred reacted like an Auburn football player! Recovered the fumble...he will forever be in my heart.

Fred and Jeanette Waldo adopted my father, Staley Ingram after meeting him at First Baptist Church.  Dad was part of the Visually Impaired Group and they  drove him faithfully to outings and lunches.   They became true and dear friends and treated my father as a member of their family. Likewise, they became part of our family and extended grand parents to our grandchildren. Fred and Staley became closer than brothers and my father considered both of them as part of his family.  I can picture Fred and Staley together now, discussing The Catfish House, Sommer's Place, fried oysters and hot coffee, Heaven knows what else and probably causing laughter all around.  First Baptist Church, our community, our family has to say goodbye to an amazing servant, a man of faith and a friend beyond compare. Rest well, dear and faithful Fred.
