Fredia Mavis Davenport

Fredia Mavis Pruitt Davenport, 87, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Leak Memory Chapel at 3:00 PM at with Reverend Stan Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Davenport was a charter member of Trinity Memorial Baptist Church and a beloved Foster Mother to 26 children while also caring for her special needs son until his death at age 47. She volunteered many years at McInnis School where her son attended and was a faithful supporter of the Annunciation of the Greek Orthodox Church and their annual Greek Labor Day Barbecue as some of their proceeds went to McInnis School.

Mrs. Davenport is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Leonard Davenport, sons Byron K. Davenport and Victor L. Davenport, parents Hurschel and Lillie Mae Hyde Pruitt, brothers Roland Dale Pruitt, Ron Pruitt, Dan Pruitt, Mac Pruitt, Billy Pruitt and Horace Pruitt, sisters Carol Caron, Paulette Russo, Joann McGill, Brenda Manasco and Pauline Pruitt and her nephew Roland Dale Pruitt.

She is survived by her daughter in law Connie Davenport, grandson Jason Davenport, brother Kevin Pruitt, sister in law Georgia Pruitt, nephew Tony Russo (Allen), nieces Jan Pruitt, Callie Rahmeyer, Christy Sullivan, Mandy Witt, Andrea Baker, great nieces Allison Sharp and Lauren Witt and many other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
