Berrey, Fredrick B. (Buck), a resident of Autaugaville, Alabama died Thursday, March 7, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 with Pastor Scotty Watson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama. Mr. Berrey received a scholarship from St. Bernard’s in Cullman, Alabama before he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War as a telecommunciations operator. He was offered a commission, but turned it down to return to Alabama to his former postion at South Central Bell. He worked there for 38 years. He retired to the life he loved of living on the Alabama River fishing, growing his and his wife’s beautiful flower gardens, building storage rooms and additions to his home. Mr. Berrey was preceeded in death by his wife, Louise Berrey. He is survived by his daughter, Lyn (Steve) Burger, and his son, Bucky (Brenda) Berrey and grandchildren; Ben Berrey, Edward Gore, Brandon (April) Berrey, Briar (Jason) Smith, great-grandchildren, Benton Berrey, Anna Claire Berrey, Brax Berrey and Bryson Smith, and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews and his beloved sister-in-law, Dorothy (Dotty) Fillinjim. He was a wonderful and loving husband,father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law and friend to many. Buck spent his last few years at Oak Grove and Belmont Assisted Living Homes in Montgomery, Alabama and touched many of the other residents lifes with his positive attiutude and the love of dancing and music. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
