Giles Wilson Cook, age 82, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Monday November 12, 2018 surrounded by family. Giles (also known as Gil) was born May 6, 1936 in Freeman, West Virginia to Virginia Kathleen Sparks Cook and Woodrow Wilson Cook.
Gil is survived by his wife, Joyce Huffman Cook; daughter Kristin Myers (Grady); son Gary A. Cook(Linda); his sister Mabel Cook Martin, brothers; Jesse Ray Cook (Connie) and Junior Woodrow Cook (Linda); grandchildren; Clint Langford, Josh Myers, Matthew Myers (Aliana), and Brittany Kelly (Jonathan).
Mr. Cook was preceded in death by; father Woodrow Wilson Cook and mother Virginia Kathleen Sparks Cook; brothers; Johnny Robert Cook, Billy Franklin Cook; and sisters; Betty Jane King and Edna Virginia Keller.
He was remembered as passionate about: the Lord, his family, real estate investing, farming and helping others just to name a few. As a food bank volunteer, he found ways to meet immediate needs. As he shared his financial knowledge, he benefited individuals and organizations.
Senior Master Sergeant Cook served the Air Force as a computer analyst with global implications. He also worked as administrator for Evangel Temple Assembly of God and Central Bible College. Most recently, Gil was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Montgomery.
A graveside service for Gil will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. Please use the Harrison Road entrance when coming to the graveside and look for Section 1.
