Glenn Borders

A family and friends visitation for Glenn will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Woodland Methodist Church, 4428 Wallahatchie Road, Pike Road, AL 36064, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 2:00 PM.

Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Sue Borders, his mother, Flossie Borders, his brother, Emil Borders, his niece, Mary Lynn Borders, his brother, Ronald Borders, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Pete Perkins.

He is survived by his children, Glenda Borders McCann (Brad), Larry Borders (Leisa), and Scott Borders; his nephew, Ron Borders; and his grandchildren, Laura McCann Barrow (Keith), Alicia McCann Foxworth (Brandon), Taylor Borders (Kelsie), and Brett Borders (Caroline); and great-grandchildren, Blakeley, Riley, and Cayden Barrow, Addison and Truett Foxworth, Ty and Miles Borders, and Pearce Borders.

Glenn loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and served him faithfully. He was a deacon and usher at Heritage Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama for many years, and later became a devoted member of Woodland Methodist Church in Pike Road, Alabama. He followed God's Word and was especially drawn toward Biblical prophecy, including scriptures regarding the rapture of the church, and Heaven. As a young man, Glenn served his country in the U.S. Army before starting his career in civil service with the Veterans Administration. He also liked to play the guitar, and wrote several songs.

He was a wonderful husband to his wife, Sue, and a loving, supportive father, who was always there for his children. Glenn was not just a dad, but also a beloved "GrandBuddy" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends will miss him very much.

Serving as pallbearers are Taylor Borders, Brett Borders, Ron Borders, Keith Barrow, Brandon Foxworth, and Brad McCann.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Glenn's in-home caregiver, Shunda Davis, and the Belmont Assisted Living staff for the past four years of loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Music Ministry at Woodland Methodist Church, 4428 Wallahatchie Road, Pike Road, Alabama 36064.
