Gussie J. Henderson, 96, of Elmore, AL, formerly of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was born on Wednesday, December 6, 1916 in Coffee Co., AL to Gillis Jackson and Lula Mae Wood Jackson. She married Preston Henderson in 1931 and was preceded in death by him and all of her siblings. Gussie is survived by several nieces and nephews. Gussie began working as a wood carver at the age of 14 and continued this trade for many years. She enjoyed making furniture for her family and friends. She was a very loving kind lady and would do whatever she could for you. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Leak Memory Chapel.
