H. Wayne Carter passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at the age of 73. A loving father and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved bass fishing and won several fishing tournaments across Alabama. He worked for Standard Roofing Company for over 57 years.
Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Joyce Carter; three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his children, Steve Carter (Mary), Ray Carter (Stacye), Heather Carter; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Carter, Kayla Smothers, Kelli Hobbs, Dylan Hobbs, Matt Bolt (Hope), Dalton Carter, Kayla Carter; great grandchildren, Chase Bolt, Cooper Bolt, Olivia Smothers; two sisters, Jonnie Gibson, Joann Trevino; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Leak Memory Chapel at 12:00 noon with a Chapel Service at 1:00pm with Rev. Gerald Wood officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Serenity Gardens following the service. Pallbearers will be Matt Bolt, Dalton Carter, Dylan Hobbs, Cam May, Logan Smothers, and Trent Roberson.
