Born on April 21, 1932, in Bay City, Michigan, Harold was a loving son, brother, father and friend. When he left Bay City, four years of service in the US Airforce brought him to Montgomery, where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara (Bickley), and raised six children.
Harold’s love for bowling developed from a young age, as he worked setting up pins at the local bowling alley in Bay City. Affectionately referred to as “Hal” by his bowling friends at Bama Lanes, he was still bowling a perfect game well into his 80s. He was an avid runner and enjoyed playing church softball in his younger years. He also loved old westerns and crime dramas.
Harold co-owned Central Heating and Air in Montgomery until his retirement. Harold and Barbara raised their family at St. Bede Catholic Church in Montgomery.
Harold’s memory is honored by his children, Stanley (Ann), Steven, Bobby, Valerie Moffett (David), and Jeffrey (Michele); his beloved grandchildren, Amber McDaniel, Alexei Huebner, Austin Gorman, Weston Huebner, Morgan Huebner, Maegan Huebner, and Madelyn Huebner; and six great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his siblings, Ted Huebner, Nancy Carney, and Joan Brashaw.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Cleo Huebner (Bickley); his parents, Harold Sr. and Helen; his sister Lucy Braden, and brothers, Gerry, Norman and Norbert Huebner. His son, Harold L. “Squeaky” Huebner, and grandson, Vick Huebner, also preceded him in death.
Harold's journey through life was a testament to the impact one person can have on many. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known him.
A Mass will be held in his honor at St. Bede Catholic Church on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
