
SELLERS, Haywood Winston, 87, passed away on February 26, 2014. He was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Starlington, AL, to Frank and Nanny Lee Sellers, and married the love of his life, the former Mary Claire Watson, on August 18, 1951, in Montgomery. Mr. Sellers retired in 1989 from Liberty National Life Insurance. He is survived by his wife, Mary Claire Sellers; children, Sherry Fite (Bob) of Decatur, AL, Kim Sellers (Betty Kay) of Destin, FL, Hayden Sellers (Leah) of Millbrook, AL; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jimmie Vee Watson of Georgianna, AL, and Blanche Bounds of Warner Robbins, GA. He was loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Sellers served his country proudly during WWII, and settled in Montgomery, AL. A Celebration of His Life Service will be Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Eastern Hills Baptist Church at 1 PM, with his Visitation beginning at 11 AM, and burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Haywood will be remembered as a loving husband and father, his positive outlook, a ready smile, kind words for those in need, and an outstanding whistle for everyone he met. An avid fisherman and Auburn fan, he coached youth baseball where he passed along his love of baseball to many young men. A Baptist by faith, he was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church, where he passionately served as a greeter. He loved to stand outside the church and let any and every person know they were welcome to come on in.
