Helen ”Faye” Beard, 83, passed away January 17, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Beard and her brother, Ira Watkins. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Slaughter (George); one granddaughter, Jessica Slaughter; a sister, JoAnn Cauthen (Wiley); sister-in-law, Sara Watkins, and many nieces and nephews. She was retired from the Alabama Department of Transportation after 37 years of service. She enjoyed volunteering, photography and traveling. She was a member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00 am with funeral services following at 11:00 am. Graveside service will follow at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. Reverend Derek Frost will be officiating the service.
