Helen McBride Lawrence, 94, long-time resident of Mongomery, AL; passed away July23, 2016 after an extended illness. Born December 13, 1921 in Louisville, KY, she retired from the City of Montgomery, was a long-time member of Whitfield UMC, and was an avid doll collector. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Lawrence, parents William R. McBride, Sr. and Sarah E. McBride, brothers Bill McBride, Jr. and Ray McBride (Muriel). She is survived by her son James. R. Lawrence (Vanya), daughter Janet L. Suddith, brother Doug McBride (Bobbie), sister-in-law Henrietta McBride, former daughter-in-law Bonnie Renfroe, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Leak-Memory Chapel, Montgomery, Alabama, with service to follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Art Long officiating.
