He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Clayton McCroskey, Sr. and Mary Lide Ornelas.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan Teresa McCroskey; their children, Daniel Broussard (Crystal), Amanda Davis (Harold), and Bryan Broussard; their grandsons, Cole McDonald (Caitlin), Chase Davis, and Brandon Davis; his brothers, Rodney Wayne McCroskey (Lori), Mark Edward Ornelas (Marquita), James Oscar Ornelas; his sisters, Deborah E. Castle (George), Sondra Lanell Woodham (Tommy), and Michelle Ornelas Donaldson (Billy); numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Iren Murphy (Terry).
Howard served in the U.S. Navy when he was young. He was a member of Bethel Church and enjoyed riding motorcycles in his spare time.
A family and friends visitation for Howard will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A graveside committal service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
