I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Huey. He and my father-in-law, Wilson (Bish) Bryant of Kentucky, were in the 17th Airborne together. It was my great fortune to spend time with Huey during the last 2 17th Airborne Division Association meetings in San Antonio and Hampton, VA. I first met him when the association had their annual reunion here in St Louis around 1990 or 91. I enjoyed Huey very much.... his smile, his humor, his politeness. He and my father-in-law (now deceased 2 years) naturally sparred over basketball and football. I will let Wilson's widow, Helen, know of Huey's passing. I would appreciate if one or more of Huey's family would contact me at their convenience. I am on facebook and probably can also be found in Huey's email contact list as bdhlite. Prayers and sympathy, albeit late, to the family. RIP Huey.

You will be deeply missed Uncle Huey!!! I always loved coming to your gas station and getting goodies. See you and Aunt Betty again in heaven one day with Grandmother and Papa Johnson. Deepest sympathy to everyone in the family. Love, Teresa Johnson (Dwight Johnson's daughter.)

Billie and I extend our prayers and sympathy to the family. We were close neighbors to Huey and Betty for over 40 years. We got to know Huey and became good friends in his later life. Huey was devoted to family and country. He loved Alabama football, hardly ever missing a game in Tuscaloosa. He will be missed.
