

Hugh Barton Bolen died on 8/14/26 in Montgomery, Alabama at age 86. Hugh suffered recently with cancer, weakness in his legs that led to numerous falls, diabetes mellitus that really affected his eyes, and Hypertension. He was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Bernard Bolen and Vivian Kershner Bolen on 2/12/40. He was raised in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. He attended Goldie Beacon Community College where he met his future wife Beverly Bolen. He then graduated with a business degree from East Carolina University. He then returned to Wilmington, Delaware and married Beverly on 6/16/1962. He started work at the New Castle Airport. Then he worked as a salesman for TRW out of Philadelphia
until that business was sold. Then he worked for IRC in Boone, NC. He had 3 sons - Vance, Louis, and Joel. He moved to Montgomery, AL after Joel established a home there as well. He is survived by Beverly Bolen, Louis Bolen, Julia Bolen his daughter - in - law, Joel
Bolen, and his grandchildren Vivian Bolen, Katelyn Bolen, Morgan Bolen, and Jacob Bolen. He is predeceased by his mother Vivian Bolen, father Bernard Bolen, son Vance Bolen.
Schoenberg Funeral Home is handling his arrangements. His funeral will take place at Beth Emeth Memorial Park in Wilmington, Delaware on 8/20/26 at 2 pm Eastern time.
For our family and friends that are unable to travel to Delaware, the service will be available on Zoom. The family will also be holding a memorial service at Temple Beth Or in Montgomery, AL on Sunday 8/23/26 in the afternoon depending on the health of Beverly Bolen. Family would like to send a huge shout out to Wright Caregiver Services. Their knowledge and rapid action gave Hugh a chance to survive, but the Lord decided that Hugh had suffered enough. The family appreciates all the prayers and hugs during the period of time.
