She is preceded in death by her father, Hugh V. Smith Jr., mother Sybil M. Smith, and husband Kenneth A. Burch, or “Chubbs” as he was known to those who loved him.
Mrs. Burch is survived by her two brothers, Hugh V. Smith III and Hamilton V. Smith as well as her nephew Hudson Cole Smith, Aunt Annee Smith Caspari and many other extended family members.
She also leaves behind her two beloved pooches Aggie and Sam who loved her dearly, as well as her cats Bob Oliver, Bea, and Kit who she cared for so diligently.
Mrs Burch was born, raised and lived most her life here in Montgomery. She loved her Capitol Heights neighborhood and could be seen walking her dogs throughout the years at Vickers park. An avid gardener, Hunter grew all kinds of vegetables and flowers in each of her yards. She loved cooking for others, going to movies and brunch with friends, Star Wars and attending Montgomery Biscuits games.
Hunter also loved her job at Chappys, where she was loved and supported like family, for which the Smith Family will be forever grateful.
Hunter adored all of God’s creatures great and small, so donations may be made in her memory to the Montgomery Humane Shelter: 1150 John Overton Dr. Montgomery, AL. 36110.
A fiercely loyal wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to so many; she was loved and will be greatly missed. She is at peace with her beloved husband once more, and for that we can be grateful and joyful.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturday June 3rd at 11am at Leak Memory.
