

James Trammel Adkison passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Jackson Hospital. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Agnes P. Adkison; parents, Gordon Bennett and Mary Alice Atkison; also 8 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, James Trammel Adkison Jr. and his wife Dianne of Davie, Florida and Son, John P. Adkison and his wife Sharon of Montgomery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Leak Memory Chapel with burial following at Greenwood Cemetery. Bro. Mike Northcut of Eastmont Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Mr. Adkison was a United States Army Veteran of World War II who saw action in the Pacific Theatre and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Upon returning he went to work for 45 years with Alabama Power in Montgomery, AL where he served as president of the Local Alabama Power IBEW 801 for 10 years. Mr. Adkison was a member of Goode St. Baptist Church which became Southside Baptist and finally Eastmont Baptist, where he served as deacon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project in honor of James Trammel Adkison Staff Sgt. 40th Signal Corp. US Army.
