Ashurst, James Malley, age 69, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at Baptist South. Mr. Ashurst was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh M. and LaNelle McCain Ashurst. He is survived by two brothers, Dr. H. Morgan (Suzanne) Ashurst, Jr., Dr. Winston M. (Jamie) Ashurst; one sister, Melody (Mike) Armstrong. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of Alabama State Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 22, 2010 at 3:00 in Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Lawson Bryan officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be, H. Morgan Ashurst, III, Dr. W. McCain Ashurst, II, Trevor Lane Ashurst, Dr. John M. Ashurst, Jr., Charles M. Armstrong, Jr. and John Chadwick Yarbrough. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Men’s Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
