James Rushton Bishop, 62, passed away January 13, 2015, in Mobile, Alabama. He is survived by his brothers, Ken and Bob; nephews, Ken III (Meredith) and Blair; & great nephews, Pierce and Preston. Rus was a gentle, kind person, and was the type friend that was always available to help others. He received a Bachelor degree from Troy University, and a Masters and PHD from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a professor of History at Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, Mississippi, and was head of the Historty Department for several years. After retirement, he lived in Sea Grove Beach, Florida, and Mobile, Alabama. He enjoyed fishing and sports. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Leak Memory Chapel, followed by a Graveside Service in Greenwood Cemetery at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in his memory to Wesley Gardens Retirement Community, or Brantwood Childrens Home, both in Montgomery, Alabama. Please remember Rus in your prayers.
