James Reese Bozeman, Sr., 89, of Millbrook, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021.
The son of the late James Theodore Bozeman and Claudia Voncile (Broadway) Bozeman, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Mavis Lewis (Bozeman) Rhodes, Eleanor Jane (Bozeman) Massey Husband Clayton Massey, and Loretta (Bozeman) Walters
He is survived by his children, James Reese Bozeman, Jr (Spouse, Elizabeth), Carol Jean (Bozeman) Fowler, (Spouse, Col. Henry P. Fowler, Jr) and Rhonda Gail (Bozeman) Florida (Deceased spouse John Florida); his grandchildren: DeLacie Hester and her husband George Mehalko, Anita Hester and her husband John Watson, Matthew Pair and his wife Carly, Emily Pair and her husband Dr. Martin Litman, Amy Bozeman and her husband Lance Meyer; Great Grandchildren AnnaBelle Whitman, Anna Marie Meyer, Aidan Meyer, Reese Pair, Ronnin Pair, Ryder Pair and Alexander Litman; his brother John Walter Bozeman (spouse, Carol M) and his sister Vonnie Mae (Bozeman) Shumaker, (Spouse, Quinton)
James being the oldest of six children was pulled out of school at a very young age to help provide for
the family. He was working at a sawmill when he met Helen Copeland, the one and only love of his life.
Helen was riding a school bus home and the bus had made a stop and the introduction was made.
It was love at first sight. He would oftentimes ride the old bull down to her house to visit her. Not
Too long after that they married. They had three children; James, Jr; Carol Jean; and Rhonda Gail
James served a short time in the Army and later worked with Foremost Dairies. He then went own to
Pursue a career in owning his own business. He originally had a very successful full-service gas station
Built a fantastic reputation of being a good businessman. He then went into the Garage business and
Owned and operated a very successful full-service garage and body shop known as Bozeman’s Service
Center. Not only was he successful in his own business, he was extremely talented and purchased three
Different lake homes and did the home improvements himself. Not to mention the fact he had his
Children work along beside him and taught them many things. James was a hard worker who always
Took care of his family and at times was known to help other families as well.
James loved his motorhome and upon retirement, he and his wife traveled all over the United States.
Being a lover of the outdoors, he never pulled away from what he called “country life.” James and his
son, along with his brother John spent a lot of time at their hunting camp in Ramer, Alabama. He was
very proud of all his grandchildren and loved nothing more than to sneak away and go riding in the dune
buggy and eat ice cream just before supper! Of course, they would have to promise not to tell!
He loved life and loved the lord and did a great job in hanging on. He will be sorely missed by all his
Family, children, and grandchildren.
