He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Evelyn Goolsby Godwin.
James is survived by his two sons, Scott Godwin (Vcki) and Glenn Godwin; four grandchildren, Hanna White (Stephen), Zachary Godwin (Amy), Dominic Godwin, Dylon Godwin and great grandchild, Wyatt Godwin.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 11:00am- 11:45am, at Leak Memory Chapel, with a graveside service to follow at 12:00pm at Greenwood Serenity Gardens.
