
James Harold Mauldin departed this life on August 11, 2013. He was born to James Wiley Mauldin and Elzie Jane (Hitt) Mauldin of Winston County (Both deceased) on September 6, 1928 in Trade, Winston County, Alabama. He had one sister Mildred Mauldin (Bob) Raines of Albertville, Alabama. He graduated from Meek High School 1946.
A Korean War Veteran, he served in the United States Air Force from November 1948 to September 1952 as an Airplane Propeller Mechanic. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.
He met Sally Jo Gidley of Hokes Bluff, Alabama in June of 1947, and they courted for over five years. After he returned from the war, they married on November 15, 1952. They were married almost 61 years. They resided in Hokes Bluff, Birmingham and Pinson, Alabama. He retired in 1986 after 33 years from Hayes International Corporation, Birmingham, Alabama. After retirement, they returned to Hokes Bluff for 13 years before moving in 2004 to Montgomery, Alabama.
Surviving Daughters: Denise (Harry) Howe of Marion Virginia; Teresa (Doug) Dearth of Montgomery, Alabama.
Surviving Grand Children: William (Vanessa) Howe, Amanda Howe, Ashley Dearth Newman, Matthew Dearth, and Brady Newman
Surviving Great Grand Children: Caleb Dearth, Lainey Newman
Loving Friends and Family: Elizabeth Hayes, Teresa Makinney, Nicole (Omar) Miranda, Mark (Judy) Hayes, Tommy (Michelle) Hayes, Joseph and Emma Brewer, Ellie Cox, Betty Brown, numerous nieces and nephews, many old friends from the Cullman, Alabama area, and the congregation of Perry Hill Road Baptist church, pastor Stephen and wife Caroline Nulph. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice of Montgomery, especially Nurse Nancy.

There will be a visitation at Leak Memory Chapel on Tuesday, August 13,2013, from 5:00 until 6:00 followed by funeral services at 6:00 pm. with Rev. Steve Nulph officiating and a graveside for close friends and family at the New Bethel Cemetery on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 3:00 pm in Hokes Bluff, Alabama with Rev.Lem Lockmiller officiating.
