

James Franklin Moore Sr. “Frank”, 77, of Wetumpka, AL, passed away at his home on September 17, 2023. He was born on April 7, 1946 in Greenville, AL, son of the late Cleston and Birdie Mae Moore. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers Jack, Charlie, JC, and Donnie Moore and his sisters Mary McGough and Leola Tull.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Barbara Schultz Moore; sister Lou Acreman (Earl) of Greenville, AL; daughters Rebecca Morrison (Marcus) of Lowndesboro, AL, Regina Coker (Clint) of Greenville, AL, Jennifer Thomas (Jamie) of Millbrook, AL, Maria Yost (Donald) of Auburn, AL; sons Santo Amato of Ridge Spring, SC, and James Moore II (Jessica) of Titus, AL; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
James loved fishing and hunting, cheering on his grandchildren’s ballgames and of course his Auburn Tigers. He served in the U.S. Army for a short period of time during the Vietnam War. He was also a dedicated member of Crossroads Church in Wetumpka, AL. His sense of humor will be missed by his family, friends and strangers. The family would like to thank Ivy Creek Hospice for the care they provided during the last year of Mr. James’ life.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 5-7pm and funeral services will be held on September 21, 2023 at 11am at White Chapel-Greenwood in Montgomery with Bro. Gene Turman officiating. Services will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
