

He was preceded in death by his father Henry E. Pons, mother Julia Elizabeth Graves, and
brother Henry G. Pons. He is survived by four sons James T. Pons, Jr., Ronald E. Pons (Marcia),
Gary P. Pons, and Thomas A. Pons (Louise), granddaughters, Jody L. Thrope, Elizabeth V. Pons,
Annamarie C. Pons, niece, Julia E. Pons Ford, great-grandson, Craig Martin, and Matilda Annette Latham (Pons); his former wife and companion of 40 years. Mr. Pons graduated from The Catholic University of America and American University. He was in the US military for 32 years, retiring as an Lt.Colonel. He served in World War II ,Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Alabama Bar Association for 50 years and served as Chief Counsel to the Alabama Board of Health until his retirement. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM with service to follow at 2:00 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel on Friday, April 6th, 2012. Burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
