James Reeford Reaves Jr. was born March 23, 1943 and peacefully entered his heavenly home on September 2, 2021. He was a member of New Bethel church in Evergreen, Alabama and attended Eastmont Baptist Church before he became homebound.
Born in Conecuh County to James Reeford Reaves and Willie Mae Sanford, James is survived by his grandson Jeffrey Scott Reaves Jr., and his sister Wanda Disoso, four nephews and their families, two aunts Doris (Sanford) Edwards and Jeanette (Sanford) Garrett and numerous cousins and friends. James was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Scott Reaves, his parents, James Reaves and Wille Mae Adams, and his brother John David Adams.
Following graduation at Evergreen High School, James attended Troy State University before moving to work in Montgomery. He worked for many years at CASSCO as a salesman and made many friends who remember him fondly. James was an avid sports fan and loved supporting his favorite team the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a devoted son, father, and grandfather. His family and friends meant very much to him.

A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with a memorial service at 2:00 pm. at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109.
