My prayers are with the family. Mr Rice was a great man!

I always enjoyed speaking to Mr. Rice on the amateur radio bands We often spoke of his time working with a small coffee company, and if I recall correctly also the railroad. Always an interesting conversation and he helped me greatly with the ham radio hobby.  I recall Owen W3nH and myself going to visit him one day, he bought us a nice lunch and then we took him to target so he could purchase a new electric razor. He was quite the character, could really get you laughing He sure did seem to love those cake pops!  Only met him once in person , so I really didn't know Jim that well However from the many many conversations we had on amateur radio, I feel like I had made a very good friend. The 76 repeater has been somewhat quieter since his passing. We will all miss you greatly, Mr. Rice.  I would bet you anything that if they have radio in heaven... that you're talking and entertaining folks right now!   R.I.P.

My condolences to the family of Mr Rice.I enjoyed what time we spent on the radio together though I never got the chance to meet in person  and have lunch but from our earlier conversations he was a wonderful man to discuss the topic of the day with.

Mr. Rice was a dear friend to all HAM's, and will be greatly missed. I knew him for only five years. But was able to get to know him well. He will be remembered always.

I will greatly miss Jim, we thought a lot alike.I only knew him a couple of years but I feel as if I had known him all my life. KR4WN de W3NH  .....
