James Robert Thompson

James Robert (Bobby) Thompson went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025. Graveside service will be held Monday, February 3, 2025, at Greenwood Cemetery at 12:00. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Leak Memory.

Mr. Thompson is preceded by his wife of 50 years Mary Thornton Thompson, his mother Mavis Dobbins and brother Chuck Dobbins.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his sister Janice Shippey, brother Jay Dobbins, and his three sons Robert M. (Matt) Thompson, and wife Betsy, James R. (Ryan) Thompson and wife Nicole, Daniel A. Thompson and wife Jennifer, ten grandchildren Mary Grace Thompson, Kate Thompson, John Robert Thompson, Macie Thompson, Klara Thompson, River Thompson, James David Thompson, Eden Thompson, Kayle Bell and Cole Bell.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Daniel Thompson, John Robert Thompson, River Thompson, and James David Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers are Blue Bell Creameries.

Bobby Thompson was born in LaGrange, Georgia. He graduated from LaGrange High School in 1968. He enlisted in the Army in 1970 and served in the reserves for two years. He was the owner of Flash Photo in Montgomery for many years. He was a proud employee of Blue Bell Creameries serving as a territory manager for 23 years. He and his wife, Mary, were longtime members of Eastmont Baptist Church. Bobby’s joy was his family. He was a loving husband, father and Paw Paw.
