Janis White Brassell of Montgomery, went home to be with her Lord on January 23, 2018. Janis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Brassell; parents, William and Ruth Lee White; her only grandson, Chase Brassell; sisters, Ruth Lee Bollinger (Frank) and Marie Gray (Clarence). Janis is survived by her son Ronald Charles Brassell; granddaughter Whittney Blain Brassell and brother Wayne White (Mary Anne); and 2 nieces, 3 nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.
Janis grew up in Highland Avenue Baptist Church and was a charter member of McGehee Road Baptist Church and presently a member of First Baptist Church Montgomery. Janis graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. She was an Administrative Assistant for Dr. George Bagley, Executive Secretary Treasurer for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. Janis was an avid Auburn Football Fan.
A visitation for Janis will be Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel with refreshments being served. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Montgomery at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Butch Jancaterino, Michael Jancaterino, Dale Gray, Richard Bollinger, Alan Bollinger, Tommy Brassell, Jr., Malcolm “Bud” Brassell, Jr., Sam Brassell and Bill Brassell Jr., Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Asphalt Contractors, Inc.
