Jerry Lamar Allie passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Evelyn Allie; his wife, Grace Allie; his sister, Nancy Rawls; his brother, Jimmy Allie; his stepson, Tim Keeble; and his stepson-in-law, Mike Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Allie; his daughters, Patricia (David) Fike and Lisa (Jeff) Atwell; his stepson, Benian (Debbie) Keeble; his stepdaughters, Terri Cox, Linda (Mark) Smart, Ginger Brock; his brothers, Bob (Jackie) Allie, Michael Allie; his sisters, Brenda (Kim) Lewis, Gayle Pike, Debbie Rawlinson; as well as twenty-two grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Jerry was an avid Alabama football fan and loved following the Crimson Tide. He coached football and wrestling in the local school system for over 30 years and influenced many young men over the years. Throughout his life, he was active in church and sang in a Gospel quartet. He worked as a licensed contractor, served in the Navy Reserves for 8 years, and he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Leak Memory Chapel from 3:00pm until 5:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019, at 12 noon at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Jay Wolf officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
