Jesse Earl Turner

October 29, 1938April 4, 2018

Jesse Earl Turner, age 79, of Montgomery, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 4, 2018. Jesse was the oldest child born to the late Howard Lee and Gussie Dora Turner on October 29, 1938.

Jesse accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and later joined the White Cloud Baptist Church. In 2003 he was ordained as a deacon by Rev. Johnny Babre and served faithfully until he was no longer physically able to serve. He also taught Sunday School for many years.

Jesse served 23 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a tech sergeant in 1979. He then worked at Maxwell AFB as an auto mechanic.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mary L. Turner. He leaves his mother-in-law, Lucinda Walters and his step-children; Lucinda Pryor (Michael) of Redford, MI, Vanessa Williams (Willie) of Wetumpka, AL, and Willie Duncan (Nakisha) of West Bloomfield, MI. Left to cherish his memory are 9 step grandchildren and 2 great step grandchildren. His is survived by his brother-in-law, Lee Walters (Lovette) of Belleville, MI and sister-in-law, Bobbie Johnson (Ronald) of Redford, MI. Also left to cherish his memory are his children; Caroline M. A. Turner, Gregory C. Turner, Tracey K. Clifton (Lee), Jenisha Selmon (Charles) and Megan Turner. Jesse is survived by his siblings; William Howard Turner (Doris Jean) of Montgomery, AL, Frederick Charles Turner (Dee) of Dothan, AL and Carolyn Ann Rabowski (Edward) of New York, NJ. He leaves 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Jesse's dear and faithful friend, Aaron Montgomery. Aaron was a true brother in Christ to Jesse.

A visitation for Mr. Turner will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home . The family will receive friends on Sunday April 8, 2018 at 10 am and a Celebration of Life service will follow at 11 am in the chapel of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Serenity Cemetery with military honors.
