Jetaleene J Phillips

Phillips, Jetaleene Knight, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the age of 97. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, December 26, 2010 in Greenwood Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Chester Jernigan officiating. Jet, as she was known was raised in Opelika, Al., having attended Auburn University before moving to Montgomery for her adult life. She taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church for eleven year old girls for twenty years. Jet was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Knight in 1981. She later married James G. Phillips of Atlanta, Ga. She is survived by two sons, John A.(Carol) Knight of Va, and William C. (Beth) Knight of Montgomery; three step-children, Linda (Steve) Hubbartt of Ga., James G. Phillips of N.C. and Eugene B. Phillips of GA.; grandchildren are Christopher Knight, Carl Knight, Marnie Knight and Russell Knight and one great-grandson, Alex Knight; seven step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Leak Memory Chapel one hour prior to the service. The family request the omission of flowers but contributions may be made to The Caring Center of the First Baptist Church.
