Jo Ann Oswald

Jo Ann Galloway Oswald, 73, a resident of Montgomery, Al., died Sunday, August 28, 2022. A memorial service will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Neal Hughes and Rev. Teman Knight officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Oswald is preceded in death by her parents Edger Ray and Theresa Desilets Galloway . She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Donald D. Oswald,Sr., sons Donald D. Oswald, Jr and wife Robyn of Vestavia Hills, Al. and Jonathan G. Oswald of Montgomery, Al., grandchildren Taylor and Haley Oswald of Montgomery, Al., and Elizabeth and Noah Oswald of Vestavia Hills, Al., brother John Galloway and wife Jeanette of Skipperville, Al., sister Elizabeth Galloway of Panama City Beach, Fl., sister- in- law Mary Frances Norris of Wetumpka, Al., brother- in- law Ernest Beasley of Montgomery, Al., nephews Blake Lugenbeal and wife Heather and Bryce Lugenbeal both of Charleston, SC., niece Christina Galloway of Skipperville, Al. and a great niece Chloe Lugenbeal of Charleston, SC.

She retired after 25 years of service with the VA Administration Hospital and after 10 years of service with Starke Insurance Agency. She was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee Class of 1967 and an active member of Heritage Baptist Church for over 30 years, serving as a Youth Sunday School teacher. She was active in the Senior Adult Choir and ministry and was the social coordinator for her Joyful Hearts Sunday School Class. She also volunteered with Montgomery Baptist Association’s Love Loud Montgomery

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joyful Hearts Sunday School Class and employees of Starke Insurance Agency. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Rodney Smith, Fresenius Center nurses and staff and Jackson Hospital Doctors, nurses and staff of 3 North.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the Montgomery Baptist Association’s Love Loud Montgomery (Forest Park) Ministry.
