

JoAnne Morse Cook, 78, of Mathews, passed away June 12, 2020. She was preceded in death by Jimmy Cook; brother, Buddy Morse and her parents, Woodrow Morse and Jodie Morse. She is survived by her children, Billie McCollum (Brian), Jimbo Cook (Cindy), Emily Sanders (Joey), Cathy Mann (Rick) and Leigh Ann Glenn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jaycee McCollum, Courtney Sanders, Dylan Sanders, Hanna Garrette, Tiffany Jones, Hayden Gardner and Kristen McInnis; great grandchildren, Lakyn Davis, Cayson Jones, Conner Jones and Sofia Chiribao, Lexie Chiribao, Evelyn Chiribao, Lucas Chiribao and Michael Baker. JoAnne is also survived by her sister, Linda Watts.
JoAnne was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. She loved her kids and grandkids deeply. She also loved to tend to her flowers and garden, and she loved Nascar. She loved all and was loved by all. She knew the Lord and He has now called her home.
A Memorial service for JoAnne will be Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 6:30 PM at 1057 Old Barnes Road. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Pine Level United Methodist Church and the graveside will follow in the church cemetery at 3:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Tim Garrette, Tom Parsons, Rodney Skipper, Joey Smitherman Dylan Sanders and Hayden Gardner. Hononoary Pallbearers will be Bill Parson and John McCollum. Please note that the memorial service will be outside to help with social distancing.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who cared for JoAnne while the family couldn’t be with her because of the COVID – 19 virus.
