Mrs. Jodie Rogers Alford, 100, who resided in Montgomery, AL., passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Crowne HealthCare of Montgomery. She is preceded in death by her husband: Roy Alford, parents: John Rogers and Mary Ina Rogers, a daughter: Dannie Parris and a sister: Flora Crittendon. She is survived by her children: Carol (Cody) Wood and Betty Peterson, a nephew: Sonny Crittendon, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Alford was a devoted Christian who loved working at the church to help others. She also loved her garden and flowers. She loved gospel music especially "Beulah Land" and "How Great Thou Art". Beulah Land will be played in her honor prior to the conclusion of the public visitation. A Celebration of Life Graveside service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. A public visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 11:45p.m. to 12:45p.m. at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home located at 909 Lincoln Rd. Montgomery, Al. 36109. Active pallbearers will be: Michael Wood, Timothy Wood, David Baggett, Cody C. Wood, Josh Crimsley and Sonny Crittendon. Rev. Bob Bradley will be officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home.
