A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am October 29, 2020 at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, AL 36109. The service will be preceded by a friends and family visitation an hour prior. Pastor Keith Waldrop and Pastor Jason Beiler will be conducting. Burial will follow immediately after at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, AL 36109. The celebration of life service will be live-streamed on Leak Memory Chapel’s Facebook page.
John was born September 25, 1944 in Goodrich, Michigan to Robert McKenzie Hubbard and Ruth Hubbard. On June 1, 1963, John married Lenora Allen Hubbard and the two have been married for a wonderful 57 years. John was a brave and proud retiree of the Montgomery Fire department where he served for 20 years. John was also an entrepreneurial businessman as founder of Montgomery Cabinet and Trim whose leadership has been passed to his son John Gregory. John was an avid fan of Alabama football, Nascar, and as a father and grandfather loved spending time with his family at the beach and lake.
John is survived by his wife, Lenora Allen Hubbard; two children John Gregory (Greg) Hubbard and his wife Karen Hubbard and Sharon Renee Goff and her husband Christopher Goff; three grandchildren, Alex Bieber and wife Bella, Trinity Goff, and Eleanor Goff; brother Douglas V. Hubbard and his wife Natha Hubbard; sisters in law Martha Mobley and husband Larry Mobley and Pat Little; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two parents Robert and Ruth, sister Janet Potts, sister in-law Shirley Estes, and grandchild Dylan Bieber.
Pallbearers; Jason Beiler, James Broughton, Rodney Ramsey, Alex Bieber, Chris Goff, and Christian Bowman and honorary pallbearers Larry Mobley, Larry Sanders and Retired Firefighters of the City of Montgomery.
