John William Kitchens

Kitchens, John William, 86, passed away on July 18, 2026, following a brief illness. Billy grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and Moved to Montgomery with his family where he graduated from Lanier High School. He attended the University of Alabama and lettered on the golf team. Billy was an extraordinary scratch golfer. He won many tournaments including the Montgomery Golf Championship. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Following his stay at Alabama, he joined John R. Kitchens Insurance Company and was involved in several other businesses over the years.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Bobbie Lee and John Kitchens. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Kitchens and his sons, William Bradford Kitchens and John Mark Kitchens. Surviving grandchildren include Majorie Alexandra Kitchens, William Speer Kitchens, John Lewis Kitchens, William Charles Kitchens, Addison Michelle Kitchens, and John Robert Kitchens. He was a loving father, son and grandfather, and will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held July 24 from 2PM until 5 PM at the Montgomery Country Club.
