John Pat Malone rode out to meet his Maker on the last day of December 2023. John Pat passed away at his home in Williston, SC of natural causes. John Pat, or John as he was called by some, Pat as he was called by others, is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Malone and his nephew, Christopher Kenmore, both of Hope Hull, Alabama. He is survived by his son, Dylan Godlewski (Victoria) of King George, Virginia; his father, John William Malone, Jr. and sister Chelle Kenmore of Hope Hull; his twin sister Mary Evelyn Russell of St. Mary’s, Georgia; and Joy Malone (Brantley) of Lexington, Kentucky. His survivors include his good friend Lori Banker of Williston, Dylan’s children, nieces Kelly (Alex), Chelle (Shawn), and Erika (Don) and their children, as well as several cousins and numerous friends across the country.
John Pat had a deep love and connection to nature and the outdoors, working for most of his life as a land surveyor while also taking every chance possible to work as a farm and ranch hand. He loved the Western United States and whenever he could he traveled there to ride horses, work on ranches, and photograph and write about his adventures. John was well respected by those he met and came to know. He loved his family fiercely and cared for his friends with a generous and kind spirit. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation for John Pat will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109 followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude with a graveside service on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St John's Cemetery, 301 N G Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.
