John "Greg" Gregory Williamson, age 70, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, March 24, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents, Lois and John Williamson. Greg leaves behind a loving wife of 48 years, Alison, and his children: Joy Kaplan (Jarred) and Sarah Beth Williamson. He was an adoring grandfather ("Pop") to Alyssa and Emme Kaplan. He is also survived by his sisters Fowler Weisman, Julia Golson and Martha McDavid. After graduating from Sidney Lanier High School, he began a managerial program with Winn Dixie, serving them for 30 years. He was then a store manager for Food Outlet until his retirement in 2020. Post retirement he enjoyed his family, friends, and his hobby of trains to its fullest. He will be remembered as a person who was kind and open to all he met and as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
A friends and family visitation for Greg will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Temple Beth Or, 2246 Narrow Lane Rd., Montgomery, AL 36111, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Greg's memory may be made to Cancer Wellness Foundation; and Temple Beth Or, 2246 Narrow Lane Rd., Montgomery, AL 36111.
