Joseph Daniel Hogan, III of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on July 15, 2018 at the age of 70. Dan was born in Reno, Nevada, and moved to Montgomery in 1962, to attend and graduate from the Montgomery Academy. He then went on to attend Birmingham Southern College majoring in theater. Dan became a real estate broker in Birmingham before hearing his call to serve and work as a Chiropractic Physician in the 1980s. Dan graduated from Life College West and became licensed in California and Alabama. Dan spent the first five years as a chiropractor in California before agreeing to partner and takeover the Montgomery Back Pain Clinic from his father, J.D. Hogan, Jr. in 1993. Dan enjoyed his patients and his practice for over 25 years. Dan was a member of Frazer Memorial UMC where he served with the audio visual crew and as a greeter on many Sundays.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Daniel Hogan, Jr. and Audrey Jones Brooks; and step parents, William Lester Brooks and Allison Dobbins Hogan.
He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Dianne Hogan, Gayle Brooks Kern (Brad); and his brothers, Robert Wesley Hogan (Jan), Michael Thomas Hogan (Kathryn) along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 3, 2018, in the parlor at Frazer Memorial UMC. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. John Ed Mathison officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or Frazer Memorial UMC.
