

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Harrison Crawford and Edith Brown Crawford; sister, Mary Virginia Crawford Bagnall; and her husband of 50 years, Owen C. Miller. She is survived by her children, Linda J. Miller, Clifford Miller Jr. (Julie), bonus son, Kent McKee (Terry) and bonus daughters, Sandra Townsend and "Debbie" Debrah Gaddy; grandchild, Daniel Owen Miller (Madeline); and nieces, Sherry Bagnall Sizemore, Marilyn Bagnall Johnson and Kathryn Bagnall Hyman. A special thank you to Mrs. Annie Perryman, Joyce's caregiver and companion.
Born and reared in Dothan, Alabama, Joyce eventually made the move to Montgomery, Alabama. She attended Sidney Lanier High School where she met the love of her life, Owen C. Miller. After they graduated in 1951, Joyce attended Western Kentucky University for a year before eloping in 1952. She later entered the work force, obtained her associates degree and retired from the City of Montgomery in 1998. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), a former member of The Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR), a member of Frazier Church and a member of the Pets Are Working Saints Ministry (PAWS). Her most avid hobby was being a life long student of Bridge. A special thank you and love to the Amazing Grace Bridge Group.
A funeral service for Joyce will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 2:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior at Leak Memory Chapel. Following the funeral service will be a Graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery.
