She attended George Washington Carver High School and went to Spring Arbor University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997.
On November 28, 1970, she was united in holy matrimony to Alfred Bernard Carmichael. To this union they became the proud parents of four children.
She worked as a Human Resource Specialist for General Dynamics, Consumers Energy, Flexben and Ceridian.
When she smiled and laughed, you couldn’t help but to do the same. Outside of her career, she enjoyed music, dancing and spending time with her family. She was a member of the choir at St. Bede Catholic Church in Southfield, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Bernard Carmichael; her parents, Wilbur and Ollie Samuel; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Obie James Carmichael.
She departed for her heavenly home on January 25, 2022. She is survived by her children, Shante Quinzy, Christi (Mark) Carmichael, Bryan (Erica) Carmichael, Ryan (Beth) Carmichael; her grandsons, Dante Quinzy and Donovan Quinzy; her brothers, Gregory (Diane) Samuel, Delbert (Althea) Samuel, and Gary (Muriel) Samuel; her sister Madalyn (Lee) Sellers; her sister-in-laws Juanita Johnson and Helen Hawkins; her brother-in-laws James (Gloria) Carmichael, Charles (Loretta) Carmichael, and Norman (Deborah) Carmichael; as well as loving nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
