Lt. Col. Huett served his country with distinction across three branches of the United States military—the Navy, the Marine Corp., and the Army—answering each call with steady resolve and a sense of duty that shaped the course of his life. He later continued that service at home as a Senior Army ROTC instructor at Carver High School, guiding young people with the same disciplined leadership and quiet encouragement that marked his own path.
During combat tours in Vietnam and Cambodia, he demonstrated courage under pressure and steadfast commitment to those beside him. In recognition of his service, he received the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Legion of Merit Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and many other awards and honors.
